As Atletico Madrid home shirts go, their new look for the 2013/14 season is, well, pretty standard. Even so, Nike's latest home shirt for Los Colchoneros boasts some great looking touches that makes this a winning design for us. 

The new home kit is inspired by one of the club’s most successful eras. The red and blue throughout the uniform are a shade darker than usual to represent the colours Atletico wore when they won the Spanish Cup and Spanish League title in the 1965-66 season.



This year will be Atletico's first since the 2010/11 season where they will play with a permanent shirt sponsor. Since their deal with KIA expired, the club have been on the hunt for a new sponsor. In one of the more bizarre shirt deals, the great nation of Azerbaijan have claimed the sponsorship rights. For the new season and beyond, Atletico players will play with ‘Azerbaijan Land of Fire’ printed across their chests.

The body of the home shirt boasts Atletico’s famous red-and-white stripes while the sleeves are red with a white band near the cuff. A striking red collar with blue filled V-neck is inspired by the collar of the club's jersey from the 1960s.

   

In a departure from the dark blue and black used in away kits in recent years, next season's away kit is inspired by the colours of the club's crest. Atletico’s crest is framed by a thin yellow border, with a blue block containing the seven stars derived from the city of Madrid’s coat of arms, diagonally opposite a red-and-white block of stripes.

The away shirt boasts a modern blocking design of yellow in the centre with a thinner blue block on each side. The shirt has a blue crossover V-neck collar with yellow trim, and blue sleeves with a yellow band near the cuff.




Inside the neck of both jerseys is a label boasting a new and inspirational motto for the club: "110 Años de Leyenda 1903 – 2013 A Team for the World” to honor the club’s 110 year anniversary. On the back is a small Spanish flag also bearing the club’s name to celebrate national pride.

Chelsea have unveiled their new adidas away shirt for the upcoming 2013/14 season. Mourinho's back in London town and adidas have designed a slick new kit for the Special One to lead the Blues in on their travels next season.

  

The new design leads with white as the primary colour, the sixth time a Chelsea away kit has featured this colour scheme. The strip is a clear homage to the club's iconic white kits with blue and red trim during the 1960s. We're going as far as saying it's one of the best kit releases so far this summer.



The use of red makes a return with its first appearance on a kit since the 2010/11 season's home shirt, where it featured on the collar. This kit just shows how to get it spot on, take away the two stripes across the chest and it would look too plain, add anything else and it would be accused of being too busy. It's all in the details. Top work from adidas and we're tipping it to be a hit amongst Chelsea fans.

   

It's not white, it's blue? Looks pretty white to us. Anyway... a crisp looking away shirt backed up by a traditional new home shirt, it has to be considered a job well done by adidas ahead of what could be the tightest three horse race in the Premier League for a long time. Blues fans, ratin' it or slatin' it?

Manchester United reveal their new home kit for the 2013/14 season and it's a classy affair. The Premier League champions new Nike home shirt combines technical fabrics and some smart tailoring to creates a sophisticated look.





The shirt is noticeably different to last years chequered offering with a new "Cantona" style black collar with three buttons at the front and one at the back being added. Moyes' men will defend their crown with a buttoned-down collar for the first time in the modern era.



As much talk is likely to surround Rooney's involvement in the kit imagery as the shirt itself. The United striker is yet to resolve his future at Old Trafford, but Nike are seemingly backing their HyperVenom athlete to stil be a Red come the new season. The United no.10 plays a lead role in Nike's promotional imagery for the kit launch.

   

A particluar mention should go to the contrasting black, button down collar. If Rooney is to stay at Manchester United, there's no doubt he'll be embracing the iconic upturned look made famous by the brilliance of Eric Cantona during the club's champion run of the 1990s. For most though, it will be a buttoned up affair, giving more off a London banker look than a Premiership footballer.




Underneath the collar is a subtle tonal grey-and black-gingham check, first used on last season's home shirt. The check represents Manchester’s industrial past, referencing the city’s cotton mills of the 18th century, which once produced the classic check fabric.




Nike say, "The tailored collar, with three buttons at the front and one at the back, represents the city's sense of style." Two side vents at the hem of the shirt feature the same tonal black-and-grey gingham check that is found under the collar.




The shorts are plain white and socks are black with a red trim similar to last season. We're big fans of the new Home kit both in style and substance. Let's hope the away and goalie Kits follow suit.

After revealing a pearler of a home shirt, Warrior Sports have chucked up the new Liverpool away shirt and it's fair to say it hasn't gone down well with the Reds faithful. At least no one can accuse Warrior of being inconsistent as it's on par with their equally divisive away shirt from last season.

To be fair to Warrior they've gone for it and we can't knock that too much, at least it's not like the same template shirts we see dished out to clubs in different colours from some brands. Stevie G and team mates model the new kit in the video above so have a butchers and we'll let you make your own mind up.

  

Based on the club's white and red 1981 League Cup-winning kit, the new strip has a diamond style pattern at the bottom in black, white, grey and red. The good news for Liverpool fans is that Luis Suarez features in the reveal images, perhaps suggesting that they may have convinced him to stay? The bad news for Suarez however, is that if he does stay he'll have to wear this Christmas jumper at away games.



As far as the fans are concerned we can guarantee it'll be another summer packed with daily mentions of Istanbul, bigging up overpriced signings and banging on about how next season will be their year, but will they be doing all this wearing the new away shirt? We just can't see it being popular amongst Kopites.



The new home shirt is a beauty but as you can tell we're not big fans of the new away kit. Refusing to finish on a negative we quite like the socks...they're not too bad.

We're bang in the middle of new kit season right now and the next club to show their hand are Real Madrid. The Spanish giants today unveiled their new adidas home shirt for the 2013/14 campaign and for the first time features a dash of orange...




As far as Real Madrid shirts go this one is a little bit experimental. To some extent there's not a lot you can really do with plain white and Madrid shirts are normally quite basic but this season adidas has given Los Blancos a slightly alternative look. On a side note, Benzema is giving us a cheeky preview of the new f50 colourway in his player shot below as well as sporting the world's smallest shin pads.

  

For the first time the highlighted details on the collar and sleeves are in orange and we can't work out whether we like it or not. It's different and would probably look better in the same colour as the stripes but then adidas would be accused of playing it too safe, so we're open to the idea. Orange? Why not.




The front of the shirt has also undergone changes with a horizontal block pattern giving the shirt a different texture which will also disrupt the plain white feel in certain light. The new design is slapped on adidas' Climacool technology, which they reckon helps the athlete to control body temperature. Fly Emirates also features as the new sponsor, they've got a bit of cash haven't they?!



The shorts are plain white, as are the socks with more orange details and we've got a lot of love for the whole purple to blue fade on the 'keeper kit. Nike follow up their launch of the England home shirt with a new design for the Three Lions to wear on their travels. If you weren't overly sold on the home kit then the away shirt might be more up your street – It's all about the retro-licious collar.

Nike were accused of playing things a little bit too safe with the home shirt (although it's growing on us) but the same can't be said about the new away shirt. For us, England kits always look better in red, some of the best kits in recent years have been red, we even won the world cup wearing red! Everything about this kit just works; the two buttoned collar, the stripes, the cuffed sleeves, it's a beaut.

 

As found on the home shirt, the new away jersey features the iconic three lions crest with a gold border and a gold ribbon graphic below inscribed with "150 years" and the dates 1863 and 2013, marking the FA's anniversary.




The gold star from England's solitary World Cup win in 1966 still looks far too lonely from our point of view, he's crying out for a friend. Unless Hodgson finally calls up Rickie Lambert & Grant Holt (International teams won't like it up 'em) the chances of seeing twice as many above that famous crest come July 2014 are sadly, pretty slim.



The kit is made from recycled polyester, plastic water bottles to be precise. The bottles are chopped into flakes then melted down to form a yarn that is spun into fabric. Clever stuff really, even if a pretty profitable price tag is slapped on each shirt at the end.



The shorts are white with another gold crest and the new away socks are red with a thin white band at the top. Other details include a red button on the bottom of the collar, while the top one is white with red thread to replicate the St George’s cross. Overall Nike’s first England away kit gets the seal of approval from us, but we reckon they’ll be a fair share of critics calling out the golf polo shirt vibe. Thoughts?

After being dragged out to New York for a post-season tour (sure the players are delighted about that) Manchester City have revealed the club's first ever Nike kit. Nike have penned a six year partnership with the blue half of Manchester and they've kicked things off with a simple yet classy 2013/14 home shirt.

Short story – It's sky blue, has a Nike swoosh and a white crew neck & cuffs, with dark blue trims. It may not be the most exciting kit you'll ever see, there's not an awful lot going on, but sometimes less is more. A classic football design creates a clean look and the dark blue details on the collar and sleeves give it a couple of subtle finishing touches.



At 23% lighter than previous Nike kits, the new home shirt weighs just 150 grams making it the lightest shirt Nike has ever produced, but will it be light enough to stop Gareth Barry looking like he's towing a caravan full of concrete? Doubt it.




City fans who have travelled out to the States will be able to see the new kit in action when they take on Chelsea at Busch Stadium and Yankee Stadium. A Premier League double header a week after the season, we've got a feeling there's going to be a fair few uninterested players wishing they were somewhere else. Oh well, anything to keep them out of trouble, eh?



Plain white shorts and white socks with sky blue tips and swooshes complete the full kit. So there it is, Nike's debut Manchester City home shirt. Classic or boring, depends how you look at it, for the record we're edging towards the classic camp. What do you reckon?
