The almighty Nike CR series is back for another spell in the spotlight. This week marks the launch of Cristiano Ronaldo's latest Mercurial model - the Nike CR Mercurial Galaxy. After months of anticipation, we can finally give you the first official look at Ronaldo's new Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Galaxy football boots. 

There's a certain expectation that comes with each Nike CR release. Whether you're a fan or not, there's no denying Nike's ability to create a wave of excitement with each launch. From the original Mercurial Safari to the new Vapor IX Galaxy, Ronaldo's footwear is in a world of its own - something that's reflected in the new design.




Nike have exercised all kinds of hit and miss designs with the CR series. After Ronaldo's previous signature shoes - the rather garish white/neon orange/neon yellow boots - Nike look to be back on track with a winning design that's sure to receive a hefty amount of fanfare. They're back with a bang and just in time for, yep you guessed it...El Clasico!




Nike now have a total of seven Cristiano Ronaldo signature boots in their locker with the Mercurial Galaxy joining football's most notorious boot line-up. Styled with a deep blue and black galaxy print across the upper and a matte-silver Swoosh, they're definitely a unique take by the Beaverton-based company.

The Mercurial IX boot features an all-over digital print of the Star Vela Supernova and includes a seven star path print, paying homage to Cristiano's shirt number. Speaking on the design Denis Dekovic, Nike Footwear Design Director commented; "The concept of a star that burns brighter than others reflects Cristiano's style, speed and the idea that as a player he plays without limits, much like the outer reaches of the galaxy."




"What Cristiano is able to achieve on the field is something that we felt was limitless. So we took that direction and focused on creating a highly luxurious finish fused with modern print and color choices."

Unlike the standard edition Mercurial Vapor IX boots, Ronaldo's Galaxy boots use the familiar Japanese microfiber material as seen on his previous model. The upper material has a leather finish applied to it and is one that Ronaldo obviously favours.

Everton have unveiled their new Nike away shirt for the 2013/14 Premier League season, the latest addition to the Blues' DNA. A new manager and new captain mark a new era at Goodison Park and the blue half of Liverpool have been kitted out in a bright away strip as they look to finish above the boys from across Stanley Park for the third consecutive season.



The new away shirt is a striking mix of yellow and blue and features a classic v-neck collarless design. The main bulk of the jersey is sunshine yellow with royal blue across the neck and shoulders and a horizontal stripe running around the chest. The shorts are traditional Everton blue and the socks are sunshine yellow with a royal trim.





Phil Jagielka loves it so much he even wore it on his holidays but what do you reckon Blue's fans? Everton will kick off their new era will kick off on with a trip to Carrow Road to take on Norwich on 17th August but they won't get a chance to wear their new Nike away kit until they travel to Premier League new boys Cardiff City a fortnight later. Real Madrid have presented their new adidas away shirt for the 2013/14 season. The kit takes inspiration from the successful early years of the club in the 30s ,40s and 50s when Los Blancos grow into, arguably, the most recognised club side in world football. It's fair to say adidas have served up a beaut for Ancelotti's boys...

For the very first time this new kit uses a "melange" fabric which includes a cotton finish, helping to achieve the retro look that has been inspired by some of the club's former jerseys whilst also featuring all of adidas' latest technologies. The new shirt has an almost training kit style look to it and in our opinion is easily one of the best away kits we've seen this summer. Simple and smart, it's a replica shirt that gives off a casual old school vibe.



After releasing the new home kit, adidas and Real Madrid wanted to create an away kit that was inspired by an unmistakable retro style. The combination of colours, royal blue with white, mimics some of the away kits worn during the illustrious period of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Refreshed this time with a touch of orange creating a continuous link in style with the home shirt.




The shorts and socks are the same colour as the shirt to give the kit a distinctive and full look. Ronaldo and Co will get the chance to kit up in the new Real Madrid strip when they travel to Granada on August 25 for their first La Liga away game. Real Madrid will have to improve on their away record from last season if they're to have any hope of winning the title, the club failed to win 10 of their 19 games on the road last season.

Manchester United have revealed their new Nike away kit for the 2013/14 season. The new away shirt was unveiled during the club’s pre-season tour in Japan and features the gingham check used on last season’s home shirt with a bigger, bolder design. Gingham style is back.

After the launch of the new home kit United fans thought they'd seen the back of the design, but the new away shirt has been brutally beaten with the Gingham stick again. It may have received a lot of 'tea towel' jibes last season but gingham returns to represent the city’s proud industrial heritage.



The shirt features large black and midnight navy gingham checks, the collar is a black round neck and on the back of shirt, on the neck, is a white woven devil from the United club crest. The club crest at the heart of the jersey is an embroidered monochromatic midnight navy and white.



The new away shorts are midnight navy with a thin navy blue stripe on the hem at the back while the new away socks are navy blue with a white stripe between two black stripes, with the traditional United bar design. United have a long history of wearing blue kits dating back as far as 1902 and famously worn by Matt Busby’s men to lift the European Cup at Wembley in 1968.




United's first chance to wear the new away kit in a Premier League game will be their league opener at Swansea on 17 August, failing that it'll definitely be on show when they travel to Anfield on 1 September. Controversial design visually, but the story behind it is a nice touch. We don't know whether to feel angry or confused... or both.

CFC and adidas have set a high bar for their new uniforms. Thanks to smart line of home, away and third kits, Mourinho's men will be some of the league's best dressed. Today attentions turn to their new third kit and if you believe the tagline, Chelsea will be 'leaving a Blue mark on this season' - be it in blue, white or black.

The smart kit will sit alongside Chelsea's blue home strip and white away kit. When neither of these kits fit the bill Mourinhos's men will go back to black, just as they did last season. This year though adidas have ditched the yellow in favour of a more elegant and traditional design. Top marks from us.

     

The kit imagery features some of Chelsea's star players dripping blue paint as per the memorable launch campaign from earlier this year. The lead colour for Chelsea's new shirt may be black like last season, but the luminous yellow stripes have been shed and replaced with a simple set of three white stripes on each shoulder. The new design is much easier on the eye and sits nicely alongside the stylish home and away shirts.



Chelsea had a great end to last season finishing third in the Premier League and winning the Europa League. Now with Mourinho back at the helm they're once again serious title contenders for the Premier League title. Now that all three kits released Chelsea will be looking to kick off the season in style.

French Champions Paris Saint-Germain will play in a predominantly white away kit this season in their hunt for more silverware. The new shirt features colour-blocking of red, white and blue to celebrate the side’s famous club colours.

The shirt has a tri-colour design — blue at the top, white in the middle and red at the bottom — giving it an appearance that reflects club’s attachment to Paris. The colour-blocking evolved from the distinctive vertical stripes that have traditionally appeared on the home shirt, with each colour representing a different club value: blue for grandeur, red to convey passion and white for respect.




Jersey details include a blue ribbed V-neck collar that blends into the top of the shirt, and a contrasting ribbed blue cuff on the sleeves. The new away shorts are white with a thin blue stripe along each side, and the socks are white with a blue-and-red band at the top, and the more traditional blue-and red-stripe on the back to give players greater visual acuity on the pitch.




Basically, the blue and white is reversed from the home shirt... The Ligue 1 champions kick off their domestic campaign with a trip to Montpellier on August 9 where Ibra and team-mates are expected to wear the new Nike away kit for the first time competitively.

Celtic and Nike have revealed the club's new away kit for the 2013/14 season, which kicks off early next month. The Scottish champions have been hooked up with a yellow away jersey featuring seven green hoops on the chest.

After a momentous 125th anniversary campaign —notable for a stunning Champions League victory over Barcelona, qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League and a domestic League and SFA Cup double —the Glasgow giants have a new contemporary on-field look for next season.



The seven hoops on the new away shirt (as on the home shirt) are inspired by some of the club’s greatest players — such as Jimmy Johnstone and Henrik Larsson, who wore the No. 7 shirt. The new Celtic 2013/14 away shirt has a green v-neck collar with matching green sleeve cuffs. The shorts are also green to create a typical Celtic feel.




Yellow and green away kits have become a bit of tradition with Celtic, the club first wore the colours on their travels in the 1970/71 season and have gone on to wear numerous versions with the most recent featuring in 2008/09.

The SPL is one of the first leagues in Europe to kick off their campaign as Celtic host Ross County on August the 3rd before getting a chance to kit up in their new strip when they visit Aberdeen a couple of weeks later.
