SoccerBible can reveal the new 11/12 adidas Bayern Munich third shirt, to be worn during the sides Champions League campaign in the coming season. The Bavarians will be hoping to go one better than 09/10 and lift the Champions League trophy in the final at their very own stadium – the Allianz Arena, Munich.
Just for our SoccerBible German fans, adidas Chef-Designer Jürgen Rank explains more about the new design (we assume he does anyway!) Take a look and share your thoughts with the SoccerBible community online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
Bayern jerseys are synonymous with Bundesliga and Champions League glory. The four stars, coincidentally matching the number of European titles they have, recognises the German giants staggering 20 League titles. The iconic club crest remains stitched onto the left side of the chest above the newly introduced red and white stripes.
This seasons adidas Bayern Munich UCL Jersey reflects the same ''Mia san Mia'' mentality that inspires the FCB to glory on the European stage. The words ''Mia san Mia'' – meaning ''We are who we are'' – is an expression of regional pride famous to the Munich club, and appears on the inside bottom hem.
Bayern Munich and adidas have updated this seasons bold black Champions League look with a new chest stripe, consisting of the clubs iconic red and white colours. The horizontal stripes across the chest add an impressively clean, and in adidas' own words, 'noble' look.
As we've come to expect with all of adidas' performance jersey's, the new 11/12 Bayern Munich Champions League shirt is made from lightweight ClimaCool Flow Mapping which uses mesh inlets, carefully positioned on the shirt to allow a small flow of air to enter and leave the shirt - keeping your body cool and dry.
We can't wait to see the new jersey in European action this season! Bayern fans desperate to get their hands on the new Bayern Munich 11/12 third shirt can do so by ordering it now for around £50GBP/€55EURO/$70USD.
